"When I wrote my book, no one told me about epubs..."
I began Travels and Travails Publishing as a platform to release the Trapped trilogy. In the process of publishing the first installment, Tourist Trapped, I realized that my background aligned beautifully with the actual creation of publications: document design and desktop publishing, mixed in with a little HTML formatting.
In the creation of my ebook for Tourist Trapped, I didn't blindly run a Word document through some "magic process" hosted on Amazon, or Smashwords, hoping for the best. I took the time to understand the components of the epub and how they work together to create an ebook.
As you probably know, authors have author friends. As other books neared their date for publication--and in one instance after publication--I offered my help in building the epubs.
One friend of mine published her book through a small press that didn't offer an ebook option. I'm helping her and soon her book will be available for Kindle.
I've learned a great deal during the process, and I'm thrilled to share my knowledge with others.
